Church, private and home school students currently enjoy an almost unlimited number of school choices in Alabama. There is, however, currently underway an effort to put nonpublic schools back under state control. This is being done by way of a legislative initiative known as the 'PRICE Act'. The act is being deceptively called 'school choice'.
The PRICE Act opens the door to bringing social programs and agendas – such as diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) – into church, private and home school settings. Once money goes to nonpublic schools, parents and schools will become dependent on the money.
